Right of Withdrawal
Information about your right of withdrawal when using Wundertale.
Summary
Digital Book
Because your digital book is created specifically for you, the right of withdrawal expires as soon as creation begins, provided that you expressly consented during checkout.
Printed Book
Because every book is printed according to your personal specifications, it is excluded from returns. It is a custom-made product that cannot be resold.
Your Protection
You initially pay only for the digital book and can review it fully before deciding on a printed edition. If you are unhappy with a page, you can send us feedback.
Our satisfaction promise
Independently of the statutory rules below, your digital book is covered by our voluntary satisfaction promise: we refund the full purchase price if your book does not win you over — until you order the print, at most 14 days after completion. Details in our Terms.
A. Withdrawal policy for digital content
(Applies to the digital personalized picture book — PDF download and online reader as well as to the audiobook narration)
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us at

by means of a clear declaration (for example, a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the attached model withdrawal form for this purpose, but this is not mandatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send the communication concerning the exercise of your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notice of your withdrawal. For this reimbursement, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no event will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.
Early expiry of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal expires in the case of a contract for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium if the trader has begun performance of the contract after the consumer
- has expressly agreed that the trader may begin performance before the withdrawal period expires, and
- has acknowledged that by giving this consent, they lose their right of withdrawal when performance begins.
Note: Since your personalized picture book is created individually for you immediately after the order is placed (generation of the story and illustrations), you will be asked during checkout to expressly consent to the early start of performance and to confirm your acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal expires. With that consent and the start of creation, your right of withdrawal expires (pursuant to Section 356 para. 5 BGB).
B. Withdrawal policy for printed editions
(Applies to printed personalized picture books — hardcover and softcover)
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the supply of goods that are not prefabricated and for whose production an individual choice or determination by the consumer is decisive, or that are clearly tailored to the consumer’s personal needs (pursuant to Section 312g para. 2 no. 1 BGB).
Your printed edition is a custom-made product: the story, illustrations, character depictions, and the entire book content are created based on your personal input (child’s name and appearance, story details, selected style) and printed specifically for you. This book cannot be resold to other customers.
There is therefore no right of withdrawal for printed editions.
Quality defects
Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected. If the printed edition has quality defects (for example, missing pages, printing errors, or transport damage), please contact us at info@wundertale.shop. We will review the issue without delay and offer you a solution (replacement delivery or refund).
C. Withdrawal policy for gift vouchers
(Applies to Wundertale gift vouchers)
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from a contract for the purchase of a gift voucher within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.
